How do pet gel cooling mats work:
Basically the cooling gel is a phase change material (PCM), when it is a liquid it no longer cools. It will only get to a liquid state after it has absorbed heat. This could be a result of your pet laying on it.
When the ambient temperature is lower around the gel cooling mat, the cooling gel solidifies and releases its absorbed heat.
It is fully recharged and ready to cool your pet when your dog cooling mat is a more solid feel to it. If you or your dog lie on a mat in this state it will eventually turn to a liquid/gel again as it absorbs body heat. To recharge a gel cooling mat you just leave it overnight and it will go from a liquid to solid state again. No refrigeration no electricity non-toxic.
